ECTS: 0.3
Price: The cost is covered by the Knowledge Rise project (grant agreement No. 24473).

program overview

The rise of generative artificial intelligence has transformed the world, opening new opportunities for business, personal growth, and, of course, education. In partnership with the European Institute of Innovation and Technology, we’ve developed a practical program to help educators master the most effective AI tools. Together, we’ll explore how to use AI to create texts, images, and presentations, conduct research, and work with it responsibly and ethically.

Over these two weeks, you’ll move from basic understanding to confident use of AI in your teaching and daily work. Self-paced theory, hands-on workshops, practical tasks, and real-life case studies will help you immediately apply what you learn.

Upon completion, you’ll receive an ECTS certificate, expert validation, and, most importantly, the confidence that your skills are up to date and open new opportunities for you and your students.

Course Curriculum

Lecture 1. Introduction and Daily Use of Generative AI

Introduction to GenAI and its applications in teaching (what generative AI is, examples of use in higher education such as lesson planning, research support, student work assistance)
Risks and ethics (academic integrity, bias, copyright and plagiarism, privacy concerns)
Best practices (GenAI as an assistant, not a teacher replacement; safe and responsible AI use in education)
GenAI for everyday teaching tasks (lesson planning, syllabus design, lecture notes preparation, etc.)
GenAI for academic articles (using tools like NotebookLM or Claude to analyze research papers, quickly summarize and extract key points)
GenAI for grading student work (essay/report evaluation examples, how to provide constructive feedback using Claude / Learnt.AI)

Lecture 2. Using AI to Create Educational Content

GenAI for working with texts (rewriting, simplifying, adapting content, automatic translation using tools like DeepL, Gemini)
Creating quizzes (generating tests and quizzes)
Creating cases and assignments (how to build discussion scenarios and case studies with GenAI: problem-solving situations and guiding questions)
GenAI for interactive elements (tools for interactive quizzes and simulations)
GenAI for personalized learning materials (adapting content for different student levels)

Lecture 3. AI for Visualization and Multimedia

GenAI for images and video (creating illustrations, diagrams, visualizations, generating short videos)
GenAI in presentations (tools like Brisk, Canva Magic Design, Gamma – how to quickly generate slide decks)
GenAI for infographics and visual notes (transforming text into infographics, mind maps, and visual schemes)
GenAI for educational simulations (creating role-plays or simulations, e.g., interview simulators, mock trials)
GenAI for multimedia automation (creating captions and transcripts with tools like Otter.ai, Fireflies; generating supplementary materials such as posters, handouts, mini-guides)

Workshop 1. GenAI as a Teaching Assistant

GenAI as a time-saving tool for daily teaching tasks. Participants will learn how to use GenAI to: create a lesson plan, summarize academic papers, generate seminar questions

Workshop 2. AI Toolkit for Educators

This hands-on workshop focuses on using GenAI tools to create real teaching materials. Participants will develop presentations and interactive components (e.g., quizzes)
