BlueBird Tech and SET University are changing the approach to engineering education
6 / 7 / 26SET University and BlueBird Tech have signed a memorandum of cooperation to jointly bridge this gap.
Since 2023, the Ukrainian company BlueBird Tech has been working on defense technologies, from engineering solutions to finished products codified according to NATO standards. The company knows what a real technical challenge looks like — and what competencies specialists lack when solving them. This very need forms the basis for SET University’s curriculum development.
An engineering foundation for an industry that doesn't wait
SET University trains engineers and technical leaders at the intersection of computer engineering, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, and entrepreneurship. This year’s flagship program is the new Master’s degree “Computer Engineering of Autonomous Systems” — focusing on the development, protection, and scaling of software for unmanned systems. Studies begin in October 2026.
Alongside this, the university offers programs in cyber defense, architecture, cloud technologies, and AI, which form a broader ecosystem for training technical specialists for rapidly developing industries.
It is crucial for Ukraine today to create conditions where the most valuable technological expertise remains within the country and is passed on to the next generation of specialists. That is precisely why we are integrating companies that are already creating advanced technologies in Ukraine into the educational process. This allows students to learn from real-world experience, and the industry to develop its own human resources without losing knowledge and competencies.
What will happen as part of the cooperation
BlueBird Tech will participate in shaping the content of educational programs — not just as external reviewers, but as practitioners who deal with architectural challenges in real production daily.
Company developers and engineers will work directly with students through guest lectures, analysis of real-world cases, and joint webinars.
For students and graduates, this also means a direct path to practical experience — internships at BlueBird Tech.
Our company has a clear understanding of how quickly technologies replace each other. That is why BlueBird Tech has chosen the path of close cooperation with SET University. We understand that being on the same wavelength as students means not losing trendiness or the freshness of ideas. Such cooperation between a miltech company and an institution of higher education allows young people to gain expertise from specialists who have been achieving results at BlueBird Tech for years. We are convinced that this format will be beneficial and effective for both parties.
The cooperation between BlueBird Tech and SET University aims not only to address the talent shortage but also to build a talent pipeline for the technology sector, which is evolving faster than education can keep up.
