On February 11, SET University participated in the CCIT Talk Series at the University of Doha for Science and Technology (UDST), one of Qatar’s leading applied universities.
The CCIT Talk Series is a venue where experts from universities and industry worldwide present their research and practical experience to faculty and students of the College of Computing and Information Technology. Beyond knowledge sharing, the series aims to explore potential avenues for collaboration in research and education.
SET University was represented by Dr. Oleksii Baranovskyi, Associate Professor, President of ISACA Kyiv Chapter, and a cybersecurity expert with over 15 years of experience. His one-hour presentation was titled “Offensive and Adversary Operations with NextGen AI — From Theory to Examples,”The presentation covered the following topics:
- Role of generative AI tools in lowering the barrier to entry for cybercriminals
- Use use of generative AI models in state-sponsored and organized cyber operations
- Emerging challenges for professionals responsible for protecting information systems and data
- Need to update cybersecurity education to address evolving threats
The presentation included real-world cases based on Ukraine’s experience in countering cyber threats.
Dr. Maamar Zakaria, Dean of the College of Computing and Information Technology, said: “Having SET University present as part of the CCIT Talk Series reflects our continuous commitment to leveraging international academic collaboration in critical fields such as cybersecurity and artificial intelligence. Exchanges like this enrich our academic community, strengthen global partnerships, and help prepare professionals to address emerging digital threats.”
For SET University, participation in the CCIT Talk Series represents more than a standalone engagement; it is part of an ongoing dialogue between the Ukrainian and Qatari academic communities. Building these international connections creates opportunities for joint research, academic exchange, educational initiatives, and long-term partnerships.
We value the opportunity to exchange expertise in cybersecurity and NextGen AI while deepening collaboration with colleagues at UDST. Partnerships of this kind are built on trust, knowledge exchange, and a shared response to global technological challenges.
