National Science & Business Acceleration Program Launched in Ukraine

23 / 7 / 25

On June 23, the Science & Business Acceleration Program kickoff meeting took place. This is the first national initiative to unite Ukrainian scientists and entrepreneurs with a shared goal of building a tech-driven future.

The program is implemented by the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine and the Ukrainian Startup Fund, in partnership with SET University and Berkeley Haas Entrepreneurship.
Its goal is not just to teach, but to ignite the belief that science and business can speak the same language. And that language is innovation.

11 teams — 11 bold visions to change the world

Just weeks ago, these were ideas scribbled in labs, hidden in academic projects, or on café napkins. Today, 11 teams are turning their scientific discoveries into investment-ready startups.

Among them:

  • RenovoMatrix is developing a technology for kidney tissue regeneration.
  • Plantara Meat is creating meat from amaranth.
  • Synteza AI generates synthetic data to train computer vision models.

Participant focus areas:

  • HealthTech / Biotech – 3 startups
  • AgriTech / FoodTech – 3 startups
  • AI / Data – 2 startups
  • Cleantech / Energy – 2 startups
  • Aerospace / DefenseTech – 1 startup

What’s happening now?

The startups are already receiving expert support from international mentors.
The program features workshops, mentoring sessions, and meetings with entrepreneurs and investors.

So far, teams have participated in five sessions, including business-focused workshops and collaborative formats.
One highlight was a joint “Pitch Deck Deep Dive” with participants from the Generation H Mentorship Program, which helped them improve their storytelling, generate new ideas, and build cross-program connections.

The program is mostly held in English, as its ambitions are global. It prepares the teams for scaling and integration into international markets.

What’s next?

Demo Day is just around the corner, when teams will pitch their projects to investors, experts, and partners.
Up ahead: more mentorship, further development, potential grants, and opportunities to engage with the Deep Tech ecosystem — both in Ukraine and across Europe.

We wholeheartedly cheer on every team and wish them inspiration, brave decisions, and patience because building a science-based business isn’t easy.
But it’s worth it.

Program is supported by the European Union through the EIT HEI Initiative as part of the “Knowledge Rise: Advancing Sustainable Blue-Green Economies via Deep Tech – Innovation Capacity Building in Higher Education” project within the broader CloudEARTHi initiative, coordinated by the European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT).
