SMICS-2026: Join Us for the International Cybersecurity and AI Conference in Krakow

On September 24–25, 2026, Krakow will host SMICS-2026 – an international scientific and practical conference on the security of modern information and communication systems. The event will bring together researchers, academics, PhD students, students, IT professionals, government representatives, and practitioners working in cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, and information security.

The conference is held within the framework of the two-year project “AI-Driven Cybersecurity: Opportunities and Challenges,” funded by the Swedish Institute under the SI Baltic Sea Neighbourhood Programme. The event is organized by universities, professional organizations, and educational institutions from Ukraine, Poland, Sweden, and the United States. This international format creates opportunities to exchange experience, develop joint research, and launch new educational and innovation initiatives.

What to expect at the conference

The format is mixed: plenary sessions, thematic sessions with participant presentations, research presentations, expert discussions, and two dedicated workshops – “Artificial Intelligence in Cybersecurity” and “Cryptology and Data Security.” Short conference talks will be combined with in-depth discussion of full-length research papers.

Program topics:

  • cybersecurity of communication systems and cloud infrastructure
  • risk management and incident response
  • countering disinformation and social engineering
  • security of IoT devices, cyber-physical systems, and critical infrastructure
  • security of unmanned aerial and robotic systems
  • artificial intelligence in cybersecurity
  • cryptology and data protection

Special attention will be given to the practical application of AI: cyber threat detection, incident analysis, Security Operations Center automation, digital forensics, and threat intelligence.

Keynote speeches will be delivered by invited speakers – researchers, leaders of international research projects, and industry representatives. They will summarize research results and outline directions for further collaboration in cybersecurity. The full list of speakers will be published once the program is confirmed.

Why you should participate and submit a paper

The core of the program consists of papers submitted by authors under the defined thematic tracks. Every submitted paper undergoes scientific review and peer evaluation, and only after selection do authors present their results in the corresponding thematic sessions. This is an opportunity to receive expert feedback from the international community, discuss ideas with industry experts, and find partners for future research.

Participation is open to both presenters and attendees: researchers, academics, PhD and master’s students, SOC, CERT, and CSIRT specialists, cyber threat analysts, penetration testing and digital forensics experts, representatives of IT companies, telecom and cloud platforms, as well as government institutions and international projects.

SMICS-2026 is a space where universities, industry, the public sector, and professional communities come together to build secure and resilient digital systems.
